History Pasman - Historical and Cultural Information About Pasman
Like most Croatian islands, the history of Pasman goes far back into prehistoric times. Earliest written records of life on Pasman date from early Middle Agees while most of preserved evidence dates from the time of Roman rule in Dalmatia (loads of remnants of Roman architecture and Roman coins as well as stone inscriptions).
Just like Hvar and Korcula, the island of Pasman felt, after 1409, what it was like to be ruled by the Venetian Republic. Local people of Pasman were under constant threat from the 15th century to 18th century because of Turkish attacks.

After the fall of the Venetian Republic, Dalmatia thus the island of Pasman, falls in the hands of the French; Austria-Hungarian Monarchy rules the island after France and in 1918 the island of Pasman becomes a part of Yugoslavia; in 1992 the island of Pasman is a part of the Republic of Croatia.
